About Me

unnamed-5.jpg

Because so much of our work will depend on our therapeutic relationship, it’s important that you get a sense of who I am and consider whether I am someone with whom you can develop a connection.  If we do work together, you will be received in a safe, non-judgmental space where you can show up in your most authentic form. So, here’s a little about me:

  • I am Tibetan-American. I was born in India, lived in the U.S.V.I., and have been a PNW-resident for over 20 years.

  • I am naturally empathic, playful, and nurturing.

  • I am obsessed with Dateline (in general) and Keith Morrison (in particular).

  • In addition to being a Therapist Associate, I am also an Attorney licensed to practice in Washington, and a Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS®).   I look forward to using my unique skillset to meet the needs of my clients, which include individuals of various ages and life stages; couples who are together, separated, or (either contemplating or engaged) in  divorce proceedings; and families of all types.

  • I am spiritual. The following Buddhist principles have influenced who I am as a person, and will influence how I show up to our collaborative sessions: compassion, empathy, universal connectedness and karma, and attachment (as a principal cause of suffering).

  • I am a volunteer: I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate, serving foster children in the King County Dependency Program. I am also a volunteer Mediator (Practicum Student) through the Volunteers of America Western Washington Dispute Resolution Center. I am very passionate about these two wonderful organizations and the services they provide to our community.

My Approach

My approach is simple: Discover, Discern, and Design.  Depending on the client's inner resources, needs, and concerns, I utilize a tailored, strengths-based approach that helps to promote useful life goals through insight and action. This can be achieved by integrating a variety of modalities, both evidence and non-evidence based; and drawing from my personal, professional and spiritual background. My focus is on you and helping you to become the best version of yourself.  The work we do is collaborative, and requires us both to be present and fully committed to your journey.

Please Note: Because every person's journey is unique, our first few sessions are reserved for gaining a holistic understanding of you as an individual.  This is the groundwork for the very important work we will do. Also, the type and level of support you need today may be different than what you need tomorrow. For this reason, we may come up with a plan, and decide to pivot later...it's OK.  I am invested in supporting you throughout your journey.

I truly believe that you have the innate wisdom to grow and enrich your life in the ways that are meaningful TO YOU!
